Using the publication

These terms apply to use of this website and its reader features. The Southern Sentinel Post is a publication operated by Moorehouse Media Network, LLC (the Company, we, us, or our). These Terms of Use govern this website and its reader features. Public browsing is available without an account. Creating a reader account requires affirmative acceptance of these terms and acknowledgment of the Privacy Policy. Optional marketing and tracking permissions are separate.

Accounts and eligibility

Provide accurate account details, protect your credentials, and use only accounts you are authorized to access. Do not impersonate others, bypass access controls, scrape private information, or interfere with site security. Contact staff about compromised accounts.

Content and permitted use

Copyright and other rights remain with the publication, contributors, or identified licensors as applicable. You may read, link to, and use content as permitted by law. These terms do not restrict fair use or other statutory rights. Do not republish protected material, remove credits, or commercially reuse content without the necessary permission.

Copyright and prohibited uploads

You must not upload, post, submit, distribute, or facilitate distribution of material that infringes another person’s copyright or other intellectual-property rights. Our Copyright & DMCA Policy is incorporated into these Terms of Use by reference. It describes copyright reporting, counter-notices, and the policy for repeat infringement. Nothing in this provision removes fair use or other rights provided by law.

Your submissions

You retain rights you hold in your contributions. When you intentionally submit material for public community publication, you authorize the publication to review, moderate, format, display, and distribute it as needed for that feature, subject to applicable law and any separate agreement. This is not a transfer of ownership. Private newsroom tips, support requests, and unpublished materials are not automatically authorized for public publication merely because they were submitted.

Submit only material you are entitled to share. Protect others’ privacy. No harassment, threats, unlawful discrimination, spam, malicious files, or knowingly false impersonation is permitted. Read the Community Guidelines. Staff may decline, remove, or restrict contributions or accounts for violations, security, or legal reasons; contact staff to request review.

Reporting and editorial independence

News, analysis, opinion, advertising, and launch previews should be clearly distinguished. Reader contributions do not represent verified newsroom findings. Advertising and affiliations do not purchase control over reporting. See Newsroom Standards and Corrections.

Purchases, events, and benefits

Reader accounts, business memberships, event tickets, and advertising campaigns are distinct services. Prices, renewals, cancellation and refund terms, and any eligibility limits must be disclosed in the relevant offer or checkout. The advertising license applies separately to campaign participation. Do not assume a displayed participation milestone grants an active paid benefit or reserved place.

External services and informational content

External media and linked services have their own policies and availability. Editorial content and community discussion provide general information, not individualized medical, legal, financial, or emergency advice. Verify important decisions with appropriate qualified sources.

Availability and responsibility

The site and launch features may change or be interrupted. No guarantee of uninterrupted service, a particular outcome, or publication of a submission is made. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liabilities that applicable law does not permit to be excluded. No mandatory arbitration provision or chosen governing jurisdiction is imposed by this version.

Changes and contact

The version and date appear above. Material changes to terms requiring agreement should be presented for renewed acceptance. Questions or requests for review can be submitted through the private request form.

Reader membership and engagement

Silver, Gold, and Platinum reader standing is earned through reviewed engagement and carries no membership fee. The published membership goals and grace-period policy explain reading and contribution requirements, review, changes in standing, and access to saved notes. Recorded activity does not guarantee an upgrade. Business Partner Directory membership is the only paid membership currently offered; it is separate from reader standing. Readers do not pay for Silver, Gold, or Platinum membership. Automatic changes are not active during launch.
